Well - I have taken the plunge to get back to larger lizards and have dne a swap with a friend for a 8 month old Boscs monitor.

I am a little unsure of his temperament as yet and only time will tell I guess!!

Can anyone here offer me any first hand pointers for monitoring his temperament and his appetite properly. I know that a lot of Boscs end up overweight and don't wish that to happen wit this little guy.

Also, if he is a rough handler and needs some extra work taming down, I should probably invest in a pair of decent handling gloves lol - anyone got any recommendations as to what I should use.

Keep him on a stable diet of invertebrates and offer a small mouse once a week. A bad diet and insufficient temps lead to obesity.

I use welders gloves for handling, however i don't really handle my female that much but they do come in handy and offer protection against her claws.
