Another thing is if excess crickets are in the Viv, should they be removed or left?

Thanks i am a bit of an amateur Embarassed

i put about 5 or 6 crickets into an empty plastic dish like you get when you buy crickets .

they crawl about in there and my cresties come down and catch them with out them invading the viv.

i had previoulsy just tipped them into the viv but they were hiding too much and were not getting caught .

I would say that if you have one gecko in a viv and the crickets haven't been eatten in 24 hours take them out, if you have a few geckos in the viv then i would normally leave them in there for a few days (not that they would ever last that long, my geckos eat crickets pretty quickly)

I leave the crickets in until they grow too big for the geckos then I remove them (if they ever last that long). The crickets eat up the CGD in the viv so that stops them chewing on the lizards and keeps them gut loaded.
