I know that somebody's bound to say that this is notoriously hard to do and I'm not looking for a 100% answer yet but would like an idea for the future as would like to look into breeding in a few years time.

I've read through;

Bartlett, R. D. and Bartlett, P. P. (2006) Monitors and Tegus Barron's: New York

Page 54-55 states that male monitors may voluntarily evert their hemipenes when foraging. Lo and behold this morning on picking up Genghis he appeared to be doing this, could someone who is familiar with ackies take a look at these (poor quality, sorry!) pics and tell me if this is what they are referring to?

Unless it is a full eversion, you cannot tell. Could be a hemipene or hemiclitoris.
Did they have bumby bits at the end. If so, you have a male, if not, you cant tell until you see a full eversion.

You mean at either side? yes it did. The book doesn't mention full or partial eversion it simply states that males evert and females don't as they cant. At the risk of sounding dense what would a full eversion look like?
