Hi,

Recently moved to North London & was wondering if anyone could recommend any good herp vets ( esp for Rainbow boas) & any good shops for getting rats & general supplies?

For anyone living near Cambridge I strongly recommend Cambridge Reptiles!

Thanks

Melissa

Hi,

I have just taken my Brazilian Rainbow boa to the vet & my vet thinks that he has a form of Myositis.
Has anyone ever encountered this, or does anyone know any specialists that I could speak to? My vet has never seen this before in any snake & we need to collate as much info as possible before he can begin treatment.

Myositis is a disease, that attacks the body's immune system, which normally fights infections and viruses, does not stop fighting once the infection or virus is gone. The immune system then attacks the body's own normal, healthy tissue through inflammation or swelling. This disease causes muscle weakness.

In my snakes case it is only his lower jaw mainly the left side that has deteriorated.

Please please can anyone help.

Thanks in advance

Melissa
