|

Hello,
I really love my leos, haven't had them for two months yet but am so happy with them. First is Stewie, I am told she is Hi-Yellow, when I got her three of her legs seemed to be affected by MBD. The vet told me she would never regain full use of her legs but 'lo and behold she is Perfect now. Here she is stretched out last night.
I "lost" her in my car for a week! It was completely stupid and will not happen again and thank God she is eating and gaining weight like crazy.
This is my newest gecko, I am told s/he is a Super Hypo Tangerine (possibly Baldy?). S/he is an eating machine and is much larger then the other. This is from tonight, she is on the couch. pictures don't really show her true color but they're alright.
I'll get over it eventually but for now every day they look more colorful and their behavior is so fascinating. Hope you like them!
EDIT* I didn't realize how bad of a photographer I was until I posted these pics, please forgive my incompetence.. |

A very nice pair.
did you adopt or buy them from someone.
Its the first case of MBD that i have heard of in leopard geckos. Sounds like she was fed a poor diet with no supplements offered.
Pleased she made a full recovery. |

I sort of got them as payment for work I did for a friend of mine who owns a pet store. As for the MBD, I did take the top one to the vet as three of her legs were bending at very odd places and they were malformed as well. It was his opinion that she was not given enough calcium but since I had her she was recovering. He told me she would not regain use of those legs but he was obviously wrong. He did give me a liquid calcium supplement made for pregnant women that worked a charm.
I am thrilled at their progress. The Hypo is just over 8" and 29g. The Hi yellow is 6" and 19g. They are my first Leos and if they are any indication I will be getting more in the future. |
