Right

still learning about genetics and hets etc..

how would a spider be produced? is it just buy luck they got the markings, and have carried on breeding them to get the spiders

if i wanted to get spiders, would i just have to buy a pair of them for say 3k?

i was thinking of albino spider etc, but its so confusing.. could anyone explain to me in not so technical terms Smile

visual albino x visual spider = visual albino x 50% het spider?

Spiders are a co-dom gene, so If you had one spider and bred it to a normal you should be able to produce spiders from that first mating, you cannot get a het for spider. Wink

Spider X Albino, that should give you 50% spiders and 100% het albino on all babies.

You would then breed the spider (het for albino) back to an albino and with luck you should get albino spiders Wink

Sorry just seen the last bit of your post..

Visual Albino to Spider should produce 50% x 50% spider and normal babies all 100% het for Albino which is a recessive gene.

p.s. i kind of get it now

100% het albino 50% het spider bred back to a Albino would possibly give spider albinos?

would be ideal, that explains why male and females are the same price

might buy a normal royal then! lol Smile

Laughing kinda

A spider to albino would produce ALL het for albino, some of those hets will also be a visual Spider (50%). You then grow on the spider that is het for albino and breed it back to an albino. That should then give you your albino spider.

hehe so its a bit risky determining a 50% het spider and just a 100% het albino.. trial and error!

so scott about the spider to normal, what would the babies be?

Spider (100% het albino) X Albino
=
25.0% Albino Spider
12.5% Spider
25.0% Normal
12.5% Spider Het for Albino
25.0% Albino

Anyone disagree with that? Confused Laughing

Spider to Normal
=
Half the clutch Spiders
Half the clutch Normal het for nothing
