went to Hamm show at the weekend and among other things i picked up a pair of Helmeted gecko's - a species i have been after for quite some time now so understandably i was over the moon, though this was to be short lived as this morning i found the male dead.

He seemed in perfect health - i even chose him over another male at the show which looked a little underweight, maybe the journey was just too stressful for him. i've also read that they can dehydrate very easily, who knows what the cause was but it was quite a blow after bringing them back all that way.

The female seems fine so fingers crossed i can pick up another male in December - just hope they have some there again.

hey keiron do you know anywhere in the UK that i can get some helmeted geckos from?
i cant seem to find them anywhere!

I haven't seen any available for a long time but i see plenty of wanted ads! Thats why i was so chuffed to get a pair at hamm but now i'll have to join the search too for a replacement male. failing that i'm off to hamm again in december - hope there will be some more there
