Why are they so expensive? Are they rare? What's their common name (if they have one). Sorry for all the questions but i'm just curious because i have never seen one before. Smile Smile Smile

Hi Sonny.
These geckos (commonly known as Auckland Green Gecko) are from New Zealand which doesn't allow export of animals/birds. Therefore they are rare outside of NZ.
All 17 species from New Zealand are ovoviviparous (live-bearers) and generally give birth to two babies at a time. They take a long time to mature to a stage at which reproduction can occur and have a long gestation period.
