Took these wee guys on a couple of months back, they were giving their owner a bit of feeding grief, they're now on unscented rodents. Very Happy They're heads are about the width of half a 5p coin, so excuse any dodgy pics.

Cheers Scott. They're ribbon snakes, in the same genus as garters. Unfortunately they seem to be pigeon-holed as a starter snake, but you'll never meet a quicker species.

lol....thanks, I guessed ribbons but which ones Wink Laughing

garters and ribbons make great display snakes, shame more people aren't working with them.

My bad, sorry. Embarassed

I'm not too sure just yet, they're supposedly Easterns, but there's something nagging me about them, so I'll just have to wait until they're a bit bigger and scale count them. So if anyone cares to speculate, it will be appreciated.

yay at last, i have been trying to post all day ! (then realised i just had to disable the spell check !!)
I think what you have there is the Southern Ribbon Snake (Peninsula Ribbon Snake)

Thamnophis sauritus sackeni to give them their latin name.

beautiful little snakes and I think they should come and live with me Wink

Thanks Louise.

Julia, that's actually one I never considered, I'll go do some reading, thank you. I think you've got too many baby Thamnophines running about as it is. How are they looking now? They were so cute! Embarassed

I have kept back 5 and the rest have new lovely homes, but they have made me want more LOL

garters should be kept by more people, very under rated little guys IMO
