I don't think Bob was implying it didn't exist, he was just questioning your list of species which you said were rare in captivity but available for those with money.

I think every monitor is obtainable if you are prepared to search and obviously pay the money for the rarer animal.
telenesetes
glebopalma
rosenbergi
griseus
giganteus
spenceri
All of the above are rare but If you pay up then they are available. I can tell you that giganteus would set you back around £25000ea |
Bob was pretty much saying that money isn't going to make an animal known from a single holotype suddenly available. I'm no yank, yet I thought the same thing as Bob 'gee, where did Sean see THOSE advertised?' |

Hey Dave I think you know what I was implying without taking things too literately and the"yank thing" was a joke but I guess you Aussie's have no sense of humour. |

Also to define the term rare I was talking from European stance not a global stance as I know in Australia spenceri is kept and is not too pricey when compared to some of your other species of varanids being kept in captivity in your country, but in Europe this species is still not common and I do even think there are any in the U.S. on the other hand flavirufus is available in the U.S. but in Europe it is very rare so the price reflects this when compared to the U.S. market. |

Before you quote me, it should read I do not even think there are any in the U.S. (ref: spenceri ) |

"All of the above are rare but If you pay up then they are available."
"Hi Bob,
I never said I had seen it advertised, why you yanks certainly try and twist things round."
If you have never seen this species advertised, then how do you know that they are available? This is all I was getting at. I do not see how I am twisting things around?[/i][/b] |

Yes Bob I was using this as an example as what is considered rare but I stand by this statement because if telenesetes is indeed on Rossell or anywhere else for that matter, then if I or someone like yourself indeed wanted this species then I do not see it as unobtainable that's all I am saying. I know you are into tree monitors of the prasinus complex well let me tell you Sir I knew about reisingeri long before it was officially classified or even common knowledge it existed but I'm sure at the time you would have said the same things what you are stating now because no locations were known from the outside only by the trappers. Reisingeri was available a long time before it took the surname of Manfred and the same for Macraei as well. I could give you details but I do not want to involve others to back up my information. There I rest this conversation and wish to add no more. |

Sean, we Aussies do have a sense of humour, but if that's you trying to be funny, don't give up your day job. |

wait a couple of years, raptor, and they'll be down to the price of lacies. Not many people have the space to keep them, so it's a limited market and they can't hold that price for long. |

Right, there was an Englishman, an Australian, and an American, all walking through the bush................. _________________ YSBRYDOLI POBL, GWELLA LLEOEDD
