Camilla hatches 57 babies
Baby chameleon ... rests on mum Camilla
FULL NEWS INDEX
REPTILE fan Vicky Fox shows off three baby chameleons on her fingers — among FIFTY-SEVEN which hatched at her home.
The babies were produced by proud parents Charles and Camilla.
The pair of colour-changing reptiles are usually kept apart because they don’t get on.
But when they both changed to blue and yellow — the mating sign — they were reunited by Vicky, 24.
Camilla, two, later hatched 57 babies but two died.
Vicky’s boyfriend Hayden Crawford, 27, of Poole, Dorset, said: “We were told we’d be lucky if a dozen survived.
“Now I’ve got to sell them before all hell breaks loose. They are all over the place.” _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

I don't buy newspapers now I remember the reasons why.
The sun obviously did a lot of chameleon research! Not! A good hatch rate yes, but where told only 12 would survive? Hmmmmmmmm. They got paid for that can you believe it!
Oh well good luck to them I think. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

This story is in The Daily Express today , like its some sort of phenomena. The old sceptic in me says ooh what a way to advertise your chams!! What worries me though is that some over endulged kiddy might pester ma and pa,and as its school holidays and the kids are bored, so they end up with a new pet- for 5 minutes. Also some numpty seeing this could think whoa money to be made here as these must be rare or something to have made the national papers, buying a pair and in effect chamelon farming the same disgusting way puppy farmers work. With all thats going on in the world- doom and gloom, maybe this was printed as a bit of "light relief". Still worrying and mis leading though,

Well its started Rick, Just this minute seen an ad which states "Wanted male and female Yemens, MUST be a breeding pair , with equipment FREE or very cheap" Makes you wonder what other unscrupulous sods are going to crawl out of the woodwork.

Exactly.
I suppose the thing that irks me is that there are a lot of people out their breeding hard to breed herps who deserve some decent recognition, and I don't mean in The Sun! Whats decent about that? Lets face it yemen's are not the hardest of herps to breed!
That story in the Sun is just the sort of thing the antis will love, abuse of chameleons, over breeding what will they do with so many young etc.
Plus as you stated, this will encourage a wave of Yemen purchases, that may well be 5 minute wonders. Hopefully not on the same scale as the ninja turtle thing. Good for trade but at what real cost?
Also whilst I feel like having a moan what is it with these adverts that say for example, I am willing to take any free herps, unwanted herps required etc. Ok if their going to a good home, no objection to that, or to be re-deployed to owners that will care for them. But I imagine some of those adds are just for profit get the free herps and keep them as opposed to buying your own or sell them on. To me that does not feel right.
I must go now to inform the Daily sport that I have six toes and a frog on my head, should be able to retire early with the payout for that hurummmmphhhhhhhhh! _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

that story was in many papers including The Times!!!!
You can tell naff all is happening in the world when they print tosh like that!
Also, you will find the ONLY reason they used that story was due to the chameleons names Charles & Camila.
I think I'll name all my gila monsters after celebrities and get some free publicity for the forum _________________
