there's something about them that separates them from the rats and kings (don't get me wrong i keep them as well, and i know you love your kings pete!) they just seem a lot more 'interactive' snake to keep and are a lot of fun as i'm sure a lot of keepers, past and present would agree

Yes, they pee a lot more! Laughing

Seriously, they are a bit "extra" in my opinion as this group of snakes go yes Keiron.

I love my Morelia pythons, they really are my favourite group. However my dwarf retics have something a bit "extra" about them as you say regarding the Indigos. It seperates them also, especially "awareness" and behaviour wise. To me anyway, so I do know what you are referring to mate yes.

having never kept morelia (yet) nor retics (maybe one day) i'll have to take your word for it! Laughing

indigo's however are definitly more alert and take a great deal of interest in the world outside their viv than any other snake i have kept, this is what fascinates me about them - they do seem to show a certain level of intelligence on par to some of the larger species of pythons and boa's

cracking snakes I kept a black tailed cribo for a while, extremely alert when kept at the right temp, I found that when I kept him about 3-5 degrees C under the recommended I got a much better feed response than when I kept at the stated temp. I found they calmed down as well. A bit like some asian rats in a way!

Stunning snakes mate..I used to keep a pair of these and agree they are very intelligent..amazing feeding response too!...such a shame that they are so messy though.
