There is an advert on the classifieds stating a pair of animals are CB in the UK. I know this is incorrect (they were my animals!!) and i'm just wondering if there is a way to stop this happening? I would contact the seller but i have a feeling he would ignore me as he is likely to be aware they aren't UKCB already as they were not sold as such by me.
Any thoughts? _________________ TFA

Maybe Scott to warn him, and take the ad down? _________________

I have also seen the Ad your referring too Dan and noticed that the "person" replaced the Ad again stating the snakes are Cb in UK even after "someone" put a post on the classifieds stating that that isn't the case.It is very annoying that someone is blatantly trying to mislead potential buyers, not sure what can be done but certainly shows that the seller cannot be trusted. _________________

It is a shame, especially as this is following a proclamation from said person as to how he was changing his ways
I know the animals weren't bred here as i physically brought them into the UK, i also know who the middle owner is, it was VERY hard for me to part with them as they are SOOO very tame it is quite shocking for this species.
If i had the available funds i would buy them back in a heart beat, no question at all...... _________________ TFA

Sadly it sounds like the person who posted the add is an untrustworthy herper. There has to be an element of trust between seller and buyer.
Lucky that in this case Dan knew the history of the herps. Very hard though to ensure all adds are genuine unless alerted otherwise.
My view is that the post should be deleted if it is known to be blatantly untrue / misleading. I would even go so far as to say the poster should be banned from posting on the Classifieds in the future for bringing the Classifieds good reputation into disrepute and for false advertising. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

I'm afraid policing the classifieds checking that all adverts are 100% genuine is almost impossible, it would be a case of having to believe one person over another without any time to check details etc.
All I can suggest is that if someone knows for sure that an advert is false, then post a warning advert telling people what facts you know about the advert but I would advise that the 'seller' be warned first! (stops any mistaken identities or confusions).
Also, why not post on the recommended forum section, if you put the full details about the seller and the info you have it can be a warning to others but also others the chance for the seller to explain his/her actions. _________________

It looks as if it may either be too late or no longer matters. If the advert re-appears i will make steps to publish the information _________________ TFA
