After skulking about on the forum for a fair while now, I thought i'd better say hi! Especially now that it's dead certain that i'll be getting a gecko in the very near future
So...Hi everyone! I have to say that this is definitely one of the friendliest forums i've ever come across, and incredibly helpful too!
My plan is to get a crested gecko, hopefully at the Exeter show on Saturday - but from the looks of things there will be quite a high demand for them, so i'm fully prepared to come out empty handed
My boyfriend and I are also in the process of setting up a Fire-Bellied Toad tank round his place, which we'll hopefully finish at the weekend and then collect the toads at the beginning of next week
This reptile thing is addictive - i've already got a list as long as my arm of species I would like to keep! Pretty much all lizards and amphibians, but there are one or 2 snakes I wouldn't mind either!
God help me...and my bank account! |

Yup yup!
When I first got there, I was a little crest-fallen (geddit??!? ) as there didn't seem to be any cresties around - there were some pairs for sale, a VERY stunning chocolate pinstripe who unfortunately was a little out of my price range, and a single yellow 3yr old male. At which point I started toying with the idea of a gargoyle hatchling...
Then in rolled a van, masses of boxes were unloaded, and I dived in to have a look...I couldn't see any cresties though
So we just carried on having a walk around, fell in love with the red-eyed armoured skinks and the OH fell in love with the flower mantids (how masculine )
Anyway, we went back to the newly unloaded stall, just in case we'd missed any...and I spotted a box with cresties! Woo!! So we came home with a gorgeous little boy - not brightly coloured, but very sweet and fairly docile (well, compared to the pair he was sharing his box with ). He's just settling in at the moment tucked under half an egg box - he's had some banana baby food and a couple of crickets, so he seems to be doing ok! Pics will be sure to follow....So excited!!! |
