Just a few pics - they're still settling in (but seem to be smiling )...
Male Tiger...
Female Tigers...
Enough teasing - here's a complete shot of one of the females...
These are big salamanders - the male is about 25cm/10" long and females are about 28cm/11"...
Very active and have a veracious appetite - they each had a pinkie within minutes of being put into tank... _________________ Tiger Salamanders (1.2)

Great set up there Tim.
I have found tigers to be very hardy and easier to keep than say, Bernadezii, Galliaca,Terrestris etc.
They are easy feeders, responsive, very ballsy and very prone to obesity in captivity, so have to watch the amount fed to them.
Mine are a pair and I need to gen up about their breeding habits.
If anyone is thinking of getting into salamanders I would strongly recomend the Barred Tigers as a top first choice, you will not be disappointed. Prices range from £12 - £40 just got to be in the right place at the right time. All of the ones I have seen for sale have been WC. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

nice animals everyone! i have four Barred tigers myself. Breeding is aparently "impossible" in captivity, but has been done at least a couple of times before. I have given mine a full 15" bt 8" by 8" tank full of water inside their big tank to act as a lake for them to at least try and breed in! Its amazing how well they can swim, they remind me of crocodiles! my first female is often to be found in the water. _________________ Interested in amphibians?
