I've used a variety of substrates over the last 20 years of reptile keeping, most for leopard geckos have always been a sand type substrate.

I know exactly what you mean by 'lack of smell', I have used a few smelly sands in the past (coral sand was one of the worst).

I now use calcium carbonate sand, this is NOT a branded product, but direct from a UK Quarry.

I keep somewhere around 100 lizards on this (maybe 150...never actually counted Embarassed

), and have never had a problem.

The only downside is that it is dusty, not a problem just makes the place look old! Laughing

Have to agree about your iguana viv...it is THE BEST I have seen.
