Gary its hard to tell the age without seeing them in the flesh but babies of that age are quite small, they grow very fast cos they eat such a lot. The only thing i can suggest you try is put him in the smallest play pal you have so he can find his food really easily cover 3 sides so he feels nice and secure, maybe the ff will spur him on to eat and if the hoppers are really small maybe he will have a go at them, as i have said i am no expert hope eats soon i truly do.

I know the guy you bought them from , not well and not as a friend, he also goes under another name. I manneutral about him as I do not know him well and it would be innapropriate to say other wise.

Karen is right; put your remaining panther into a smalll home even if it is a plastic faunarium, aesthetics are not important at this stage of a chams life. Then it will be easily be able to find the food

The other Panther also died.

The person I bought from is either dazzybear@msn.com or chameleonkeeper@hotmail.com (both addresses)

You have been warned.

Thanks to everyone that tried to help.

You have my deepest sympathies.
From a moderators viewpoint though; is it perhaps unfair to name and shame two people when it might not be one of them whom you got the chams from? Not having a pop at you just wishing for fair play. Unless the person/s above are the same person?

Rickezee - They are the same person mate.

When the situation was explained, he washed his hands with me and offered me another Cham for £80.

I think in the interests of reptile care, his email addresses should be available.

Thank You

Gary

Dont know, he came to me. All I know is, I will NEVER trust him or buy from him again.

I dont want to get done for slander or anything, so all I will say is, if you love reptiles and choose to deal with him, ask questions at EVERY stage.

All the best

Gary

Quite right to ask loads of questions anyway, a genuine seller will have no problem in being 100% upfront. At the end of the day though anyone can say what they like, there has to be a point of trust as you can not always verify what your told. I still think the best way is from recommendations by others.

It is the same guy that I am thinking of without a doubt I checked it out. I bought three baby Panthers from him a couple of months back, they are doing well and thriving. I am not taking any side in this as I can only relate my own experiences. The point I think in all of this is as you say to ask questions. Very hard to ascertain the facts though when buying, perhaps recommendations is after all the best way forward.

My preference is for young baby chams as then you know how they have been raised. With the right set up and feeding regime they can and should thrive. If it is from someone you trust, then if not confident with baby chams, go for a sub adult at least you will know it has been passed the so called tricky stage.

I am sorry that you have had this experience Gary. I hope your experiences do not put you off having a cham in the future. They are an awesome lizard to keep.

If you do get another cham your in the right place here, there are plenty of people who will offer good advice. I have learnt loads from being a member on this forum. There are a lot of very genuinely helpful folk here, this forum is my reference book! Could do with a free bar though, Scott get on the case Laughing Wink
