Its quite funny the amount of people that have said to me in the past that they can tell a CF animal from a cb one easily..I'd like to challenge them to do that round your place.. Laughing

lol....yep, I would put money on it that a well kept CF or CB will be totally indistinguishable from each other.

Of course on the same token a poorly maintained CB will look just as pathetic as a poorly maintained CF.

I have some CB05's i hatched in November and they aren't even as big as these, What are you feeding them, how often, how many items, what are they being kept in.

Sorry to be a pain with all the questions but I'm intrigued Rolling Eyes

Thanks

Tom

lol....yeah and ALL your adverts were slating 'CF rubbish' Laughing , you know how much I hate sweeping statements like that....so easy to end up looking silly/wrong Wink

They are fed ONE item, of the right size, 3 times a week, now reduced to twice a week. I also feed HIGH QUALITY rodents, NEVER used defrost. All the rodents I use are bred by ME.

well considering Toms aren't captive farmed RUBBISH..he is sure advertising them alot.. Laughing Maybe rewording your ad may help Tom.. Wink

OK ok Embarassed Scott has shown me up big time with these CF beauties, Its just a few years ago CF was absolutely terrible and everything I've seen this year is excellent and very indistinguishable from CB, Hands up Scott you've done a great job with them.

May i ask the setup your keeping them in such as stub size heating arrangement, do they have drinking water available at all times, are the assist feeding or just leave item in the tub and i hope i didn't offend anyone with CF animals i should have looked further into CF before slating it Embarassed

No offense taken Tom, I too have seen bad CF royals but there are still plenty of good ones out there too. Basically CF royals shouldn't be bought unless either A) the shop will guarantee you they are feeding on a food source you are ok with OR B) you are happy force feeding etc.

I had around 8% from my first ones not feed (although now 100% are feeding) and 5% of my second batch still not feeding, so these are still all around the 60 - 90g mark.

NO special arrangments or care have been given to them, standard 'cadbury' shoebox type tub, ONE per tub. 3" water bowl, plastic disposal hide and newspaper substrate. Heat cable or heat pad along the back 1/3 . Water pretty much available all the time.

Sorry i should have elaborated on what i mean by items with "hair"on, what i mean by this is simply that rather than using a large bald rat pup Ive had better success with small mice that have hair all over there bodies.

I personally think that small mice are better than naked rat pups, I get the overall feeling that most people seem to feed prey to baby royals that is too small, even heard of people feeding them pinks!!!
