These are Shangcheng Stout Newts (Pachyhynobius shangchengensis), a very nice large stream dwelling species of Hynobiidae from south-eastern Henan and western Anhui, China. They are quite rare in captivity and indeed in the wild they are only known from less than 10 locations and are quite vulnerable due to being somewhat a delicacy in China. As far as I am aware these are the first to be imported into the UK.
