That's a shame. You may find yourself spending more time talking about varanids than seeing them, as it's a bad time of the year for monitors over large parts of Australia: Mid-winter down south and dry season up north. Can't change it to another time of year? |

That would be the earliest I could make it so later would be better for me too. Have you ever come across spenceri in the field? I liked your varius pics when you were dangling your keys if I remember rightly, it reminded me of my panoptes panoptes behaviour. |

I've only driven through spenceri country once, but it was a harsh year (extremely dry) and none was out and about. Friends tell me they're not that hard to find in better years |
