It was Atheris hispida, not too sure on your one...definately a Trimeresurus spp. but not sure which one, possibly albolabris but will have a better look later. The whole Trimeresurus complex is screwed up anyway, really needs a sort out _________________ Regards James Stroud |

It is a fairly new species _________________

The genus is Trimeresurus, the species is popeiorum Worked with a group of wc "Pope's" and none of them looked anything like each other physiologically so hasn't surprised me they've all been reclassified _________________ Regards James Stroud |

Popeia inornata
http://biology.bangor.ac.uk/~bss024/pdfs/2004/Sanders%20RJH%202004.pdf
We describe a new species of green pitviper from Southeast Asia. This species is a member of the genus Popeia
(formerly known as the Trimeresurus popeiorum complex), and is distinguished from congeners by a combination
of morphological and molecular characters. These include the absence of a red lateral stripe in adult males,
low ventral scale counts and green eye coloration in males and females, and five fixed nucleotide differences in a
720 base pair fragment of the mitochondrial cytochrome b gene. The new species is known only from the
Cameron Highlands range in West Malaysia, where it was found between 1200 – 2000 m above sea level in or
near undisturbed evergreen rainforest. _________________
