It has been a while since the last time I have visited the Forum.
We are in a flood here in New Hampshire. The governor declared it a State of Emergency. I have never seen anything like it.
We got 12 to 16 inches of rain on the 1st day (depending on the area) towns were shut down either for roads being damages (lost bridges, strong water current on roads, wash out roads etc...) or roads are gone under water and used with boats. (It gave me the feeling of being in Italy).
All schools are close and many of us, including me, can't get to work because their are no roads to get us there safely.
Many were evacuated and many other lost their homes. Some of the houses were washed off their foundation making it unsafe to live in. I even saw a house float by in the river.
It's been raining for 6 days straight now and today for the first time, I saw sunshine late morning. It's raining again now but definitely not as bad. The worst has past. Now is the time for clean ups. One of my apartments even got a sewer back up in the basement. Now that is gross. It smells soooo bad. I have the neighborhood's poops floating in my basement right now. Not looking forward to cleaning it.
But I was one of the lucky ones. Damages are at a minimal compared to many others. |

I will never be able to look at my neighbor's in the eyes again. I've seen something very personal of theirs. I'll be thinking, was the dark one his or hers? Or maybe it belonged to Bobby, it was big enough. Bobby seems like the type that could pass something that size.
I just have to laugh. |

Funny you said that. I still remember the first diaper change. I was 13 years old. My first babysitting job. It took me 30 minutes to change the diaper and I threw up twice. |

Lol!!
I'm so sorry, it's such an unfunny thing to have happened, but that had me cracking up
I'm so sorry you had to go through something like this - and to think that we have the nerve to complain about the weather over here when it pushes a couple of degrees above normal! |

Believe me, I'm no different. I also have the nerve to complain when it gets to hot or to cold. It give us something to talk about.
I've been complaining all winter long that we weren't getting enough snow for skiing. Don't get me wrong, we do make a lot of snow so that we can still have a good ski season but it's just not the same. I like natural snow because I love skiing in the off trails. So I didn't get to do any of that this season. I really complained about that one and I think the weather man finally got the picture and gave me the percipitation that I have been asking for all winter long. Now that I am getting the precipitation I'm still complaining that it was just a little to late. Can you imagine if that rain would have been snow, we would have had about 8 foot of snow on the first day.
Glad you got a chuckle |
