Can chameleons get the hiccups?

I know it's an odd question but lately our Panther chameleon has looked like he has the hiccups. There is an audible sound closely followed by a jerky reflex (like hiccups). He is feeding and defecating normally. The only difference we have seen in him is his colours are slightly muted. Can anybody shed any light on the problem?
