Just a question to all those royal experts out there..I have often come across people referring to their royals having "clear bellies"?..what is the significance of this?

I have always found the yellow/clear belly thing a bit odd.
Heres a link to Ralphs site
http://www.ralphdavisreptiles.com/matrix/traits/yellowbelly.asp
In a nutshell, breed 2 'Yellow bellys' and get an 'Ivory', but its not quite that simple

How many of us have a royal which looks like it has a yellow tinge to its belly?

Is there something to this yellow belly thing? My female has definitely got a yellow belly. I was worried it was some kind of rot or somet? The belly is a lot clearer(Very little pattern) than the others. Is it worth trying to take some Pics of her belly and posting them?
When she has shed that is.
Its exciting, I will convince myself eventually.

apparently 'yellow bellies' DON'T have yellow bellies...lol, it's all to do with side patterns. Don't quote me though.....as I'm just quoting someone else...lol

I think Clear bellies have some thing to do with "poss het pieds" but I don’t bother reading posts about them.

Yellow bellies have yellow bellies, hence the name...but there are imposters that have yellow bellies also, so the defining characteristic is the fused side to belly pattern.

Clear bellies on the other hand are royals that have a pure white belly with no marks not even flecking... True clear bellies IE the genetic ones are supposed to make and new morphs when mixed with some think like granites etc... But I've only been given partial hints as to what makes what, so am not going to stipulate too much as i wouldn't want to lead you astray purposefully... anyhow I've a couple of clear belly females in my colony just in case Wink
