Soz to go on about it, but the new millipedes are just out of this world, they are active a lot of the time, feed non stop, bury themselves in the substrate for a nap and can even take the odd pinky or fuzzy! Helps with crusty shell like covering.
They are dead easy to keep I would highly recommend them to anyone, I think they would make an ideal intro for the new hobbyist and an IDEAL PET FOR KIDS UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION OF COURSE.

The more I learn about the pedes the more impressed I am.
They tunnel in the substrate to lay their eggs in chambers that they make. The larvae can take up to 6 months to hatch. The larvae then can live for A FEW YEARS years without being seen within the substrate, feeding on rotting matter etc.
They do not reach maturity until about 5 years of age! So mine must be mature as they have been mating! I would imagine they were WC, apparently can have lots of mites on their legs and body, some are good mites some are nasty mites. I have examined mine and they appear mite free! So maybe cb, the guy in the pet shop did not know if they were cb or wc.
Their life cycle, habits, body construction, biology etc are really fascinating what a top pet! _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk
