Haha yes I do, he only has a couple of claws on his back feet on non on his front so he cant grip, and I've read a few threads about monitors dying of internal injuries from jumping/falling etc, so I'm a bit wary
The cork bark looks really cool! Bet they love it! |

You find alot of Ackies that have very few claws, my female is doing well i think with only 3 missing and luckily my male has all his, which is quite good!
But i can well believe they injury themselves especially when chasing food! ... They do like the cork its like a basking spot too so they kinda hang about alot in and around it ... plus i like the way it looks too! _________________ Cheers

I lost one of my V glauerti trio to internal injurys, not because it had no toes, it had them all, but from just leaping into space for some bizarre reason and falling quite a distance.
They all did it but stopped in 48-72 hours after introducing them to their new home, unfortunately it was too late for one.
I had a good, deep, soft substrate but they would often leap from one immatation out crop to another much further down, this must have been how the damage occurred.
Since then i have provided more "bridges" from one side to another both up and down.
My ackies love to climb but had all their front toes missing from before i bought them, i didn't see this as a good enough reason not to buy them and have kept their viv to a more terrestrial design.
My new babies wont suffer this problem _________________ http://s124.photobucket.com/albums/p17/Bird-fly/

Yeah i see what u mean, i think thats why i have put so many branches and platforms in, and this viv is lower but wider than the last one, so hopefully i wont have much leaping going on, but i think with the amount of branches and stuff they shouldnt have far to go before landing on something ... well thats the theory anyways! _________________ Cheers

This is the exact problem I have with Barney, he was a rescue and has stumps for front feet bless him. The problem is that he obviously doesn't notice and loves to climb, so I have to keep things fairly terrestrial to avoid him falling. My female has all digits and claws and loves climbing so my new viv is going to have to accomodate them both which is going to be a challenge!
Do you have any pics of your ackie viv Bohan?? |

Yeah its pretty crude but covers the basics, i really must do some thing better for them, i need to give them some depth to burrow in to make up for their inabilty to climb, got to wait until my shed is up and running.
I have up graded it a bit since this photo and changed it about a bit, basicly added a length of timber from corner to back so i could increase the sub depth and more hidy places for the female:
