Thanks Alex and Jamie. I know what you mean Jamie, evil little buggers they are, I'm off on the attack again shortly I now have my mite-off and I'm going to go and spray some paper outside in a bit of the wind dies down and put it around the outside of the tubs for safety. I'll work up to the chemical stuff later on if I need to. I think it's going to be a very long day Sad

I might get some frontline from the vets and treat the racks with it just to be on the safe side, along with the floor, carpets, walls and anything else I can think of, I'm not having the damn things back again Sad

there is another chemical that you can get from the vet's that is really good at killing mites,i think its called ardrap or something like that.this isnt to be used on the snake's but on shelfing and boxes and stuff like that.ive nevr used it but someone i know had a infestation and this badboy did the trick Wink

I've heard of that one Jamie, can't think when or why I've heard of it mind you but the name is ringing very serious bells Laughing

What I'd really like is something that is a liquid rather than a spray so that I could apply it to a sponge and wipe it on the racks and outside of tubs etc. Anyone know if Ardap, frontline etc etc comes in that kind of a form? Alternatively I might try Bumblebees suggestion and mix a bucket of shampoo up with water and wipe that over everything Smile

i only know about the loxazol that's liquid. btw frontline is about 60% more poisonus then the lice shampoo Wink

I buy medium sized spray bottles of Frontline to use on my cats. If you unscrew the top spray gizmo you can just pour the liquid out. All the best getting rid of the confounded mites Claire, ooooh, this post has made me feel really itchy...
