The feeding is going ok I think, this time I bought medium sized locusts and as before he doesn't seem so keen on them.
He seems to be eating about 3-4 every 2 or 3 days. It seems like he is only eating them when he gets really hungry.
I'm not sure if this is the normal amount or not because I'm sure if I put small ones in with him he would scoff all of them.
Do you think I should carry on with the medium size locusts or go back to the smaller ones? |
He's probably only eating what he needs, I'm only a novice myself so I cant offer any concrete info i'm afraid. I have a baby panther (approx 2 months) I put around 7-8 small crix in per day, for the 1st week I had him, he had 2 every day, for the last 6 days he's moved onto 3 per day. I think as long as he is eating, drinking and pooing, I'm reasonably happy. Maybe your Yemen is getting used to a larger size feeder, I would persist for a little longer. |

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I will keep trying with the larger locusts and give him a bit more variety. The only slight concern I have is that I'm going on holiday for 2 weeks and my parents are going to look after him while we are away. I'm sure he will eat them as he is now, a couple every other day. Thanks again. |
