Congrats mate!

Been watching the thread to see the drama unfold! Glad you managed to keep it all together Wink

This has really made me want to breed my tortoise, but she's only 1. So i've got a few more years left until she's ready.

It also makes me want to start investigating the possibility of getting a chameleon or 2.

Hmmmmmm

Thanks Dave, how long b4 torts can breed then?

IMHO breeding is a natural extension of the hobby and adds yet another dimension to the experience that is extremely amazing and enjoyable.

Yay get some chams, just wait till mine have hatched and pm me Laughing Laughing Do a swap for a baby tort!

all the best mate.

Rick

Depending on where/what you read Tortoises don't become sexually mature until they are around 8-10 years old.

So we will both have a biiig wait for baby tortoises!

One thing I have to think about at the moment is space. I don't have a lot of room left in my hovel of a room to actually fit much more stuff in so careful planning will be needed into the needs of young chameleons.

The good thing about Ruby is, even though when she's older she will need a lot of space, as she's going to grow to about 40-50 cms, she's growing slowwwly.

Im guessing Chameleons grow up a lot quicker than Tortoises!

Very Happy

Oh yes.

Plenty of time for me to find her another lady friend and a nice male friend and then actually have space for them all to make sweet* tortoise love.

*It's not sweet.
