Hi Karen

You have been a great help, thank you!!

I will reduce the vits to a weekly basis, shall i still dust with calcium every meal or reduce that to? All the live food i give the reps is well gut loaded with greens and apples.

I might leave the uv off tomorrow till i get to the vets, give her eyes a rest for the day.

Thanks again

Alison

Been vets, she has conjuctivitus. Might have been bought on by the move to her new viv, the stress of it all lowered her immune system.

She is on antiinflammatorys, eye drops and baytril. Also im to give her critical care until she is eating again.

Thanks for all your help Karen, and i'll post some pics when she is all better!!

Compact lights have been reported to cause photo kerato conjuctivitus in many types of reptiles...
http://www.uvguide.co.uk/index.htm

I have also seen this type of swelling for other reasons, but its usually only ONE eye. It can be due to parasites, cancer/tumors or a sinus infection.

As for the white around the nostrils...I have never heard of it being caused by calcium. You have to really overdo the calcium for it to cause problems...so as long as you are not coating the insects so they look like ghosts, there shouldn't be a problem.
