Thank you all for your contributions. I am sorry I have not been around to reply before now.... busy time with corn eggs right now with 3 pairs producing 45 eggs between them lol

Was just wanting to get to know the behavioural quirks of my Royals before attempting breeding later. It was a young male who I had observed doing the tail wagging and urinating in the presence of a larger female

Apparently one of mine did it the other day just like a rattle snakes when hubby was changing water and there wasn't another snake in the tub, don't know which snake so can't tell you the sex Laughing

Ah.... what you describe is like the tail rattling that any snake can do if feeling annoyed, frightened of just been fed. Some of my corns do it and its like a fast drumming vibration isnt it?
The wagging to which I refer is more like a swishing from side to side. Like a pleased puppy, and usually with the tail slightly raised, although my female dragged hers purposefully from side to side in the substrate. It seems to be on first contact with another Royal, and of the opposite sex. My little lad accompanied it with urinating at the same time.
Nice!
