I picked up a nice size starter colony of Madagascan hissing roaches, Gromphadorina portentosa, at Hamm.
Anyone else with these have any tips?
I'm hoping to use them as feeders for my tegus...

Hissers are a pain to breed, as they are not the fastest breeders and take a while to increase in size. In the end I gave up and fed the adults to my tegu, and he definately enjoyed them! |

I had some hissers that i kept in a big aquarium with a screened top.
I added a lot of egg crates and a spot light. I started with about 300 and had over 2000 within 3-4 months. They are very interesting as pets but did not like them too much as feeders! |
