If you want a good pastel then buy one! A fires gonna run you about £1500 more than a clean pastel!! A combo is only as good as the genes you put in. What are the chances of Brad and Angelina making an ugly baby??? Get my drift!?? Very Happy Take your time buy quality.

But the greatest Pastel will never look anywhere near as nice as the worst Fire Pastel. This one is getting far BETTER with age.

fire pastels certainly are stunning but again starting with the brightest pastels is always the best way to go, will make the fire the pastels even better Wink Laughing

I've finally added a fire male to my collection, can't wait to 'mix' him up a bit.

You managed to sneak that one through Scott Laughing Are we going to get piccies of the aformentioned 'Stud' Very Happy

I agree about the 'you get out what you put in' principle, but pieds for example are a little different, high whites can produce low white babies and vice versa, so it is possible that they genetic play a greater roll than purely the 'look' of the snake. I've seen really ugly parents with very pretty kids Laughing

Pastel het ghost might be a cheaper option for you, and yellow bellies should never be discounted. You could get both for less than a fire, but it depends on your budget Very Happy

I completely agree with starting with the best you can. Its also important to pick the line of Pastels that you like the best. For me personally it is NERDs Lemon line. I think when crossed it just adds that little something special.

Because the ghost gene is a really good cleaner, and if your aim is to put pastel together and produce super pastels in theory the results should be very nice indeed. Feel free to disagree Laughing
