She is going to see Jackie the vet tomoz and we are really worried. She is unable to move her legs properly and this came on very suddenly she is trembling as well its pitiful watching her.. I gave her some extra nutrobol as the vet recommended over the phone and have managed to feed her a few wax worms and syringe her some water but it doesn't look good, has anyone experienced this with there lizards?? and did thy recover? _________________ 1 Rankins called Irwin. How big are the insects you fed your dragon compared to the width between the eyes?
Is it only the back legs? |

It was her front legs at first, now her back legs are going as well and she tries to drag herself with her belly like a snake? The food is only small and she never has trouble eating them normally but everything is a struggle at the moment. _________________ 1 Rankins called Irwin. RIP Beauty |

Hey, Whats the husbandry like (heating/uv/substrate etc) and what supplements are you giving her. Nutrobal is good for once a week (contains calcium plus all vitamins) then use a pure calcium source 2-3 times a week such as Calyspo. This will avoid overdosing on vitamins - vit A toxicity can present with tremor like signs.
How old is she and how long have you had her?

We don't know how old she is because we rescued her, she was a bit rough when we first got her.. very very thin with the end of her tail missing and a few toes as well, the toes she has left are in a bit of a state. She has problems with polycysistic ovaries and receives treatment for those when they flare up and has been doing really well considering what she has been through. We have had her nearly a year and she is so friendly now. She has nutrobol and we try with the calypso although she is not that keen on it. I hate to think she is in pain.. I will let you know how it goes at the vets today.. Fingers crossed everyone _________________ 1 Rankins called Irwin. RIP Beauty |

Irwin has been to see her vet jackie today and she thinks it is her ovaries yet again... she has been put on full strength calcium and vit D over the weekend and if she is no better or even worse then i have to book her in to be spayed on monday.. it will be a very serious op with her being so tiny but we have tried everything now and she still keeps having problems. _________________ 1 Rankins called Irwin. Ok, so we have a possible answer. What is being used as a diagnosis to this problem? If it is the problem then spaying will be the best as Jackie has already said. It will be fine Obviously there are risks, but they are outweighed by the benefits
Keep us informed how she does _________________ Sophxx

Its an on going problem that she is always needing attention for, she has had antibiotic injections before and it cleared up for a short time then returned. She has had a scan and ther definatley is a problem inside that causes her body to shut down which she then has to have further treatment. She has been fine for over a month but this week problems again. She is really brave tho and takes all the prodding and poking and foul medicines in her stride... She is very quiet today tho, Jackie said she is not in pain which is good but we just want her back to being her cheaky little self. _________________ 1 Rankins called Irwin. RIP Beauty |

She is still poorly, she is going in tomorrow for her operation.. we have been trying to get her to take some baby food to build her strength up before she has it done because the stronger she is the better the outcome. She is really stressed out with it all. _________________ 1 Rankins called Irwin. RIP Beauty |
