he is in a 8 foot by 4 foot viv with 2 basking lamps and a uv light but he keeps going eal limp especialy on a night . he lays on the bottom of his tank with his mouth open and his tong hanging out and he is all limp. he dosnt move when you touch him or anything.i even picked him up but still no movement. but in a morning he seems fine. the tank is at 86 degrees during the day and 80 on a night

any help would be appreciated

Are you keeping him misted throughout the day? It is just with you saying his is sticking his tongue out he may be a little dehydrated.

When you say he goes limp at night. What exactly do you mean? I know they usually push their arms and legs behind them when they sleep (so they look quite streamlined) this is just what they do when they relax. Can you give us a little more info to work on and i will try to find out more for you.

Hope everything is okay,

Thim

yes i spray him a few times a day or more if the weather is hot.....and when i say limp i mean not moving at all he hangs off the log .you can pick up his legs and they will just drop to the floor. if you pick him up its like he's dead. he just droops unless you really prod him he will just lift his head open his eyes give you a very dirty look and go back to being limp again.. but he is always fine during the daytime?????????
maybe he just a heavy sleeper huh ha ha ha...

i guess you didn't notice this when you first got him from the RSPCA?

Ideally you need to take him back to the RSPCA homing centre or to a VET. A lot of older iguanas are severly lacking in calcuim and develop MBD, this can lead to a rubbery look to them with no muscle tone etc.

he was seen by a vet the day before i got him.. he looks fit and healthy and has real good skin.. i have checked him all over (for ticks and such) but cant see nothing wrong. he looks perfectly healthy but just goes limp on a night time but he is perfectly lively during the day.... its like he is in a deep sleep.. i got him out last night and sprayed him (which he didnt like one bit).. as i woke him up. he was all limp again but 2 or 3 min after spraying him he was back to normal.. just cant figure it out.... he is very lively durin the day.. its like havin a 6 week old puppy. he is into everything.... even tried keeping the temp at the same level incase he is gettin stiff with the drop in temp but its not that either....
cheers for all the help
