I've a gravid female royal who is about a week away from laying. The only problem is that she has completely ignored the nest box provided and set up camp under the newspaper at the cooler end of the viv. It is currently about 28 degrees where she is and im concerned that this is too cool. Should the temp be raised? |

she knows what she's doing ... Mother Nature has a knack of sorting her self out ...as said ...long as she has a gradient . if she wants to use the nest box she will ...if she dont ...she wont ! sounds simple I know ...but it is that simple. _________________ 3.7.0 Royals

exactly right
I haven't bothered with nest boxes so far this year. The females have all laid at various distances from the hot end, all without problems.
best of luck with the eggs. _________________
