I'm currently building a fake wall to go in the new viv, I wanted to ask if people have had any issues from the heat lamps affecting. If covered in enough grout do they with stand the heat ok? |

Never had a problem with mine in a viv with background temps of 75-90f. However I did accidentally leave a fake background outside in direct sunlight which started to crack at 115f.
The problem is with the foam, even when it is completely dry it can continue to expand under the heat. I would defiantly recommend extra layers of grout around the basking spots to help prevent this. |

I have made two. When i make another i will not use expanding foam, but will fill in gaps with polystyrene, coat with grout & PVA glue and coat with silver sand (kiln dried). I have found the grout comes off the expanding foam. not had same problem with polystyrene. I have them in monitors enclosures. basking temps of 120f plus, without any problems. |
