Hello everyone.
I am looking for fine sand that is good for burrowing reptiles.
In America I have heard of jerassic {sp?] sand.
Can we get that here apparently it is great for burrowing.
Ideally needs to hold moisture and hold burrows.
Cheers guys.
Links would be good. _________________ Regards, Paul.

Hey, For my ackies i use Kiln dried sand. It holds moisture reasonably well. It is very fine and at only £4 a bag it is a good price.
I bought it from a builders merchants. It is White in colour.
I find it ok for burrowing but i dont have it very wet so i have not tried it. I just use a burrowing box for my ackies
Hope this helps mate! _________________ 2.1 Heterodon Nasicus

i duno if this will help you but have you thought about mixing play sand with dirt/soil? i know alot of the monitor people use a combination of the both to get a substrate that holds moisture and burrows. |

Hi james.
I have used this method a couple of times but didnt get on with it at all.
I found the substrate would get rwally dusty and if you blew onto it the dust went everywhere!!
But that is just my opinion. Maybe i had too much of either mixture! _________________ 2.1 Heterodon Nasicus

I have some of that ordred actually Jake, but doesnt it set solid ??
I would like it so that it holds caves but so they can dig themselves etc.
