Well this has kicked off a storm on the RKUK forum and some of it is unhelpfull.

We will see what the organisers have to say about this sad loss.

Yes we have lost money but animals died and that has to worry everyone.

This cannot happen again.

My final posting for the moment is that whilst we all possibly expect the odd death during transit (from anywhere in the world) this would appear unusual to say the least and definately not a stress, or a heatpack (we didnt use them) issue!!!!

I agree that this has kicked off an unhelpfull storm on RFUK so i think it best to wait and hear from the organisers as they definately need to have thier say in this matter before too many more people jump on the bandwagon. i feel that other than this issue all those involved in organising the trip did a sterling job. with respect to areas of concern posted on other forums, no there were not any heat packs in my poly box and yes it was adequately ventilated (its the same poly box i have used the last 4 times i have been to hamm) and yes i do know exactly where in the hold my box was placed as it was rather battered and easily recogniseable from the hatch into the hold when some of the others boxes were unloaded at ashford.

Cheers, Will

From your story it does sound like a transport problem and heat rather than cold. Where on the coach were the boxes? Maybe near a heater or the engine? But even then, someone should have noticed as they got the boxes out, they at least should have been warm to the touch. To kill hardy snakes it must have been over 35C for quite a while. And how could that much heat get into the boxes? Good luck finding out what happened.

Final Post -Admin could you please lock this thread for us!!!

I would like to go on record to confirm that Steve the co-organiser of the Coach trip is now fully investigating the various deaths.

Until coach to the show have fully investigated the issues surrounding coach 2 it is wise that we all keep calm.

I have had a lengthy conversation with Steve and we have agreed that he will do his bit and we will have pm's done on two random dead snakes.

I would like to thank Steve for his understanding and will comment further once things are fully clear.

Graeme

Right
I am Tony, one of the organisers.

I sure agree that conjecture helps no one.

Graham has spoken to Steve and we are looking at getting a firm cause of death.

Once we find this out, we will of course be working closely to avoid this happening again if possible.

It wont help Graham, us or future passengers if people keep throwing possible reasons around.

Graham and his family have suffered a great loss, the full reasons for which are not yet known, no one involved needs any additional problems.

Until a cause of death has been found be the vets, its not a help to anyone to throw accusations etc around.

If the deaths were a result of error of ours or the coach company, or some fault, then although the animals cant be brought back, the insurance companies will be involved.

So, please everyone, leave this now, lets find out what the cause of death was, then go forward from there.
