i think by law the gas must be removed if its not going to be used as a fridge, or if it is going to the tip. but you must get someone qualified to remove it. _________________

Cheers guys
I am thinking after reading all your advice that get the gas removed by an expert then use heat mats and a pulse stat that i have kicking around spare.I can easily fit 7 contico boxes in it so is more than big enough for me for the next 2 seasons |

The freon gas is essentially nasty CFC's... I would leave it in, it wont do any damage if you dont mess with it...
As for the fan, you can buy fans that run on 240V.. no need for a PSU. _________________ My website isn't quite there yet, as I got bored half way through writing it.

Well thats a risk that everyone takes with having a fridge. Its unlikely though as the gas wont be under much pressure, compared to when its working. Its the sudden escape of gas that can be problematic... I really wouldnt worry. _________________ My website isn't quite there yet, as I got bored half way through writing it.
