I love watching my leps feed, they become so manic!

They really wag their tails super fast when feeding, I would have thought this display would be more a warning defensive posture? Can anyone tell me about this action, thanks.

They also just seem to sleep wherever, one was sleeping with his head resting on the rim of the water bowl earlier! Legs splayed out behind him he looked real cute!

Maybe it's to distract the prey then go in for the kill? I shall lurk it up in my new Lep book, see what it says.

In brief:

Have read in my book, tail wagging is a defensive behaviour usually more noticeable in hatch-lings, includes other defensive behaviors also at the same time, lowering to the ground, raising tail in air, then raising up on legs etc. Idea is that the predator will go for the tail tail comes off gex makes escape. Quite a lot more to it than that but this is only in brief.

So maybe when catching the crickets they do this to distract them then gobble em up?
