Well hopefully i'm getting the loft converted, and my bedroom at the moment will become my reptile room. So i will obviously have a lot more room for different species.
At the minute i have corn snakes of various morphs, royal python and bearded dragon. Crested geckos have caught my eye for some time now, and seeing one of scotts at the corn snake breed show made me 100% certain that i wanted one.

One question, i've been reading up on their care, but i'm still un sure about the diet, some people say insects have to be included in their diet, and others say they don't, can anyone clarify this for me please?

It's up to you really. If you can get them to eat the Crested gecko diet on it's own then there's no need to feed them crickets. I have found some like it, some don't. Personally I do feed them crickets as I like to give them as varied a diet as possible.

I feed mine crickets dusted with naturbol once a week and cdg every other day, sometimes i'll leave it in there for 48 hours and they continue to eat it.

Hi Claire, glad you liked the geckos at the Cornsnake Show.

As for your answer, they CAN live on the artificial diet with nothing else at all, over 10000 a year are bred in the USA by one breeder alone and he uses the CGD 100% exclusive and is on many many generations, that proof enough for anyone to know that it works......HOWEVER crickets and other feeder insects certainly add interest and fun to the geckos feeding times and as Jackie say's some crested are stubborn to switch onto CGD. The choice is yours....ME, I use crickets AND CGD and think it's a great product.
