Right this is the best site I have found for the Lobster Roaches, have to hit a few diff headers to get all the info, but a tops site! Also at bottom of page has info on other feeders e.g. waxies, flies etc. Search it and see what you think.

of course the only downside to lobster roaches is that they can climb smooth surfaces...oh yeah and they can live happily in your house
Have you tried the red runners yet Rick? similar to lobsters but can't climb the glass or viv walls. _________________

No only just getting into roaches, too much at once and my brain fails me!
The website previously quoted gives loadsa ways to stop them from climbing also how to feed them and prevent escapees, v. good site!
So whats the coo with red runners how do they compare nutrition wise with lobs. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

I think its fair to say that pretty much all the feeder roaches have low chitin/soft body ratios compared to crickets.
Good luck with your lobsters. I actually like them, but don't keep them any more. Too fast and climb too well for me. They do breed so well though.
If you stick to a vaseline barrier method (why does that sound vaguely sordid lol?) and esp. if you feed them off with forceps, they'll be fine.
The red runners aren't ideal either; they are faster than anything I've ever seen!, and being a warm temperate as opposed to tropical species, are more of an invasion risk! But at least they don't climb.
My favourites are the dubia roaches, which are much more expensive and take much longer to get going, but once they do, they breed really well, don't climb and are nowhere near as fast. They have a lot more meat on them than lobsters, really good for lizards the size of beardeds or blue tongues.

Yes the vaseline method does sound sordid probably why I like it!
Can slow them down by putting them in frdige can feed them via tubs with smear of vaseleine round the top, lotsa diff ways, see previous website mentioned.
Scott; if you like the colours of them look at these beauties then!
