The tail is clearly healing near the rotten part, anyway I'll have to take care to make sure it does not spread. The vet just said that it would fall and the best thing i could do is wait.
I jut gave her more crickets, the floor of the terrarium is full of them, and I'm giving her some Little tenebrio.

Dont keep putting in crickets if she is not eating them, it will stress her out !!
Take some out if there are lots that are not eaten please.

I have a cham, Yemen male, the tail was rotton and I had to give the anti biotic injection for 2 months in case the infection comes back. The wound and everything healed up within the first couple of weeks after been to the vet. But my herp vet suggested the cham should still has the anti-biotic for at least 1 1/2 months to be safe. I was told the infection could come back if the treatments were not continued.

The tip of the tail of mine did not fall off until almost 3 months later. But the first few months I had also have to apply oiments on as well as to keep the tail clean.

Yes Felix i would have thought antibiotics were the order of the day, just to combat any infection in there.

Well, the bottom of the terrarium is full of crickets so that enough come to the top were she is. It isn't stressing her out because the bottom has rocks and soil.

Ramos, i would if she was mine remove all the substrate she could injest some of it, and it could cause an impaction. I dont mean to be picky just trying to help, also a sterile envoronment would help her tail Very Happy

I've just seen this thread........I think if it was me, I'd be looking around for another herp vet to get a second opinion.

Tks guys, I'll remove all the substrate. I'll just have to find some time to do it Wink
How do you feed your chameleons, do you let the food loose or put the crickets on a container?

About her tail, i agree with the vet opinion, as long as the tail seems to be healing i think it is ok. One of the reasons he gave me was that she being so young she should deal with that type of wound very well, because she is still growing.
