Apologies if this has already been asked previously - I am a newbie and I am the proud owner of a 10 month old Royal Python which I have had from when he was 2 months.
He has had no problems with eating and I have upgraded as he has grown etc. He has been in the same viv for about 6 months now with no problems and after his initial problem 1st shed with me, he has shed well everytime since.

My problem is that for the past 8 days he has gone into his hide and has not come out. This is very unusual for him as he usually at least sticks his head out in the evenings. I have checked on him and he looks absolutely fine and I can see no indication of an imminent shed. The temp has remained fine with no dips at all.

Has anyone any idea what could be wrong? Do they hibernate?
I did not want to pull him out of his hide but would you suggest this if he still does not emerge after some more days?.

I would be grateful for any help - Like I said I am a newbie and this has got my baffled and a little worried.

Many Thanks!

Thank you so much guys for the reassurance. It means a lot.
Funny how these guys get under your skin - he is like my baby and I have been worried, but will leave him be and wait for him to emerge when he is ready.
Many many thanks Very Happy
