Yemens tend to dislike human contact, but mine eats from my hand if I offer waxworms. _________________

This thread title made me laugh on Valentine's day
TBH, It may not happen at all, but don't force youself on her and don't stress her. She may one day decide to walk onto your arm with some gastronomic persuasion. _________________

Hi Smuge
I allso have a Yemen female ,she,s two years old,and i have had her since she was 8 weeks old and allways got her out of her cage once a day ,put a branch close to her and she might walk on it ,or i put the lights out in her cage ,and put my hand in slipping my hand under her front leg,s and holding her tail to give her support , then she goes in the garden in a mesh cage on a sunny day and she love,s it and eats flys sitting on my head when i go close to the fence, hence no neighbours talk to me

Def bribery with waxworms! My male Yemen loves them. Otherwise time and persistence, and be careful about what colours you wear near them, Charlie thinks we're going to kill him if we wear red! |

|

I have a male and female Chameleons, the male is so placid, loves to be held, goes to sleep under my hair, feeds from me, can take him anywhere, yet I have treated my female exactly the same as the male, had her since she was 3/4 weeks old, at first she was ok, came to me, fed from my hand seemed great, then she changed and became this PMT Cham, she hisses mouth a gape lunges for you, but as soon as I have her in my hands she is calm, from what I've read, the female is very moody, but I love the way she is it's her personality, she means no harm, so don't take it to heart if your female hisses at you, its just their defense, just don't give up on her..Ive nursed my girl as she had very bad eyes, and you'd think all the help, love and attention I have given her she would adore me, but not her, she still hisses, just ignore it get hold of her and just let her walk on you, I've even tried leaving her Viv open showing her that I'm not going to touch her, but nothing has changed her..still she is gorgeous and i wouldn't want her any other way now..just love her the way she is I doubt if she'll change(typical female I guess lol) |
