Hi
Can you please tell me if I am being paranoid or if there is something wrong with Vernon.
I noticed about 2 days ago that it looked like he was going to shed his skin again, he did it about a week and a half ago maybe 2 weeks. I thought this because it looked as though he was peeling around his right nostril. Last time he shed his skin i was at work and didn't see any of it, just came home and there was bits of skin on the floor of the viv.
There is still a tiny bit of skin in the middle of his head that he hasn't managed to get off from last time.
I have posted a photo of his nostril, is he ok? Please let me know quick.

Thanks

Helloo...

I'm guessing this is ok... My Nosy Be shed about 3 days ago and still has a couple of bits left over on his head....

Though i'm sure someone will give you a trustworthy answer soon.. But don't worry (hopefully)

I have just read that chameleons excrete salt from their nostrils. Could it be this?
Is this common or am I using to much supplements when I dust the insects or could it be the water?
I spray the leaves with water that has been boiled and left to cool, is this the correct thing to do?
I use calypso calcium and repton. Repton on every third day. so:
mon - calcium
tue - calcium
wed- repton
thur - calcium
fri - calcium
sat - repton
sun - calcium and so on

Please let me know if you think I'm doing anything wrong.

You can always give him a spray with some water to help him with the shed too

I sprayed him with a little bit of warm water the other day and it went, but it came back again. I have spoke to a few people and they told me that chameleons excrete salt through their nostrils so I think it must be this.
If I give him a little spray with warm water it seems to go, they have told me it nothing to worry about.
Hes shedding again today so will we see if that changes anything.
