ok i was bought this lens for my birthday, have taken a couple of test shots below but am currently seeking advice on how to set my cam up to take the best shots. the first 2 photos havent been edited one bit.

pic 1 is no flash, camera rested on floor,


pic 2 is with flash, camera held.


pic 3, i edited the first one as i got bored Very Happy cyclops dog!


pic 4, cropped version of pic 2 using Paint Shop Pro Photo X2

It all depends what you are shooting as to what settings you have..also the white balance looks way off in the first pic..if you want more of the subject in focus use a higher f number..if you want less you have to use a lower one..

I would also set the camera to aperture priority setting that way camera will sort the shutter speed for you..but beware it will more often than not choose a slow speed if your in bad lighting..so thats when the tripod will come in handy to eliminate camera shake..I also manual focus when doing macro much more accurate... Wink

It agree with Stuart on this issue.

Nowadays I only use aperture priority and either use high or low F stop depending on whether I want a deep or shallow depth of field!

thats only for cannon's though innit stu?does any good nikon courses exist?im sick of being a numpty.its 2 clicks this, 2 clicks that....it may as well be martian Crying or Very sad
