I think there are several reasons for the drops in prices, firstly the standard single morphs have been around for years. If you look at prices for double co dom or recessives etc are still high and this is simply the next generation of animals. It a bit like buying a top of the range plasma tv three years ago for 10k now a better model is 3k, but you can still buy a more upto date plasma for 10k.
Secondly the american economy is week at the moment, which is encouraging people in the US to sell off animals cheaper to get a quick return. Good for the UK as the animals work out a lot cheaper over here than they were.
I have been told the soul sucker is no ordinary co-dom cross as it displays the hidden woma and lesser genes, hence the price is relative. |

everything drops in price eventually
but if you pay say £5k for a snake and get say 6 babys two are worth £2.5 k (in time allowing for price drops ) and four are hets that are worth a few hundred quid ,you will still proffit ,if you have more to invest you stand to gain a lot more you cant loose really ,and get to enjoy what you accomplish .and enjoy the snakes ! _________________

... here is my two-pennies-worth, if for instance you bought a Spider early last year for £900 ish, that snake is still worth that much because it is now a year older. It is true that Spiders have almost halved in price and a baby can now be bought for £450 ish, but you have not 'lost' money and you now have a cracking snake with hopefully future breeding potential. |

I think the only way you could really lose would be if you were unlucky enough to have an infertile snake, or it died, other than that I think Royals are a good investment, and I'd like to see the tax man get his hands on mine instead of the bank account, and it's prettier than stuffing money under the matress _________________ www.draco2.co.uk

i think its all about the goals you set for your self. if you plan on making hundreds of thousands then i think you might be aiming to high....not that over time its not possible but a more realistic approach seems to keep me happy. if i can make enough to run the business and do a little shopping to help the collection grow then im pleased.... i think if money is what some one is after then there is great potential if you have the patience and work ethic. trust me when you start working with over 1 or 200 animals it does start to feel like work!!!!
at the end of the day weather its 1 normal clutch or one 10,000$ clutch
this makes it all worth while
sorry for ranting-justin
