so you are all trying to get your females up to weight quicker, not thinking about the welfare or health of the snake!!! that sounds......greedy!!! _________________

Quote: | Superb albino Mike, and 900g's in 5 months in about as high as I've ever heard .
My biggest is approx 650. Mine all tend to get fed every 4 days, although that's not set in stone, often they will miss a complete week or occasionly they get a meal two days in a row.
Personally Mike I can't see anything wrong with that snake, doesn't look like it's fat, just a nicely filled out snake.
The term 'power feeding' really makes me laugh, it sounds like you are holding the snake down and forcing it to eat when it doesn't want to. In reality all you are doing is feeding ad-hoc and letting the snake decide if it's ready for another meal. You wouldn't say I'm power feeding my hamster just because it has access to food 24hours a day |
Thanks scott, appreciate your opinion of her and your words of wisdom.
I am very proud of her,

i need to say, cause i have a mouth the size of portsmouth so i have been told, that any animal with weight shoved on it rapidly, and which is kept unhealthily obese, will have heart and lung and liver problems as it ages. resulting in an animal that does not live as long, or is not as able to move around as easily as one with muscle tone. i probably dont know as much as most of you think you know, but i do know a healthy animal is a happy animal. i would rather mine took longer to get up to weight, even supposing i couldnt breed till they were 5/6, and be happy, healthy and fit. i dont see them as objects to be used, abused then flung to the side. _________________
